Time. It’s the one thing we all wish we had more of, isn’t it?

As business owners, it can often feel like there’s never enough. The inbox is overflowing, the phone won’t stop buzzing, and the to-do list seems to grow faster than we can tick things off. Before we know it, we’re spending our days reacting instead of leading, putting out fires instead of focusing on what truly moves the needle.

It starts in your mind

Here’s the truth: reclaiming your time isn’t about finding a magic solution. It’s about making small, intentional shifts that help you take back control. It begins with your mindset.

When you catch yourself thinking, “I just don’t have enough time,” pause and reframe it. Ask instead, “What’s most important right now?” That simple shift moves you from feeling overwhelmed to feeling empowered.

An old piece of advice that still works

One of my favorite strategies is the “Eat That Frog” principle — tackling your most important (and often most dreaded) task first thing in the day. It’s not about being busy; it’s about being productive where it counts. When you start your day by completing your “frog,” you create momentum, free up mental space, and set yourself up for success.
